A few years back Cinco de Mayo became “a thing” in Canada. Suddenly, there were ads everywhere urging us all to celebrate it, with Mexican beer and burritos of course! Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is NOT the celebration of Mexican independence. In fact, it’s a celebration of the Mexican army's victory over the French in the battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 (thanks Google for clearing that up).
My battle is far least epic, but just as fierce. The battle I'm waging is me vs. the urge to snack!
